CHAPTER EIGHT

A LONG time later Sara felt the brush of a hand against her hair and slowly opened her eyes.

‘That was amazing.’ Guido grinned up at her.

‘Guido…’ she murmured. She was lying on top of him, her head resting on his broad shoulder. She could feel the rapid beat of his heart against her own. She smiled and, lifting a slender finger, lovingly traced the line of his jaw, the curve of his wickedly sexy mouth.

‘Sublime,’ she said softly, her body throbbing with the wondrous joy of sexual release. ‘But what was it you promised yourself?’ she prompted, recalling his impassioned words.

A smile of pure satisfaction curved his firm mouth. ‘Can’t you guess, sweetheart? From the minute I saw you lying on your stomach on that yacht…’ a caressing hand stroked down her back, and long fingers settled at the base of her spine ‘…I promised myself I would kiss your delectable dimples once more.’

‘You, sir, have a dimple fetish,’ Sara teased, wallowing in the languorous aftermath of their lovemaking.

‘Only with you, Sara, only with you.’ He chuckled.

‘Then I approve,’ she murmured, totally satisfied, and glanced around. ‘We are upside down on the bed. How did that happen?’

Guido rolled her over onto her back, and reared up on one elbow to look down at her. Sara, with her hair a silken mass about her shoulders, her lush mouth swollen from his kisses and her creamy breasts bearing the marks of his hungry mouth, was a vision to behold.

‘Give me ten minutes and I will show you,’ he offered, but his stomach chose that moment to give a distinctive rumble and a wry smile twisted his lips. ‘Make that half an hour. Unlike you, I missed lunch.’ He grinned, and then grimaced as the ringing of a cellphone cut through the intimate atmosphere. ‘Sorry.’ He leapt off the bed. ‘I need to answer that.’

Dreamily Sara watched him walk stark naked to extract his cellphone from his jacket, lying among the mess of clothes on the floor. Watched him straighten up, heard his staccato voice answer, and saw his handsome face harden. And suddenly she shivered, a chill invading her very bones.

For long blissful minutes she had forgotten the last decade—forgotten they were divorced. Seduced all over again by his great body and his incredible sexual expertise, not once but twice. If she lay here a moment longer more than likely thrice…

Hastily she scrambled off the bed and quickly picked her briefs and bra off the floor.

‘Sara.’ She froze at the sound of her name.

‘Yes?’ She made herself look up at him with a forced smile, and though she longed to cover herself she knew if she was to have any chance of getting through this affair with her heart intact she had to be as bold and sophisticated as Guido.

How did a man manage to look like the consummate business tycoon stark naked with a phone in one hand and the evidence of his latest sexual experience in the other? Sara wondered.
